Looking for a Cheltenham pub quiz? As a self-confessed pub quiz nerd, I’ve pulled together a list of all the pubs offering pub quizzes around the town by day of the week. I’ve been to most of the below, and have included all the information I can find below. It’s best to check with the pub you’re planning to visit for the latest updates on start times, entry fee, and whether or not the pub quiz is going ahead. If I’ve missed any from the list, drop me a comment so I can add them in.

Cheltenham pub quiz on Sunday
The Exmouth, Bath Road
Held every Sunday, The Exmouth’s pub quiz takes place each Sunday at 7.30pm. It’s on the cheaper end of the scale, at £1 per person entry. This pub quiz gets busy so I highly recommend booking ahead – conveniently, you can actually book via their online system. It’s a competitive quiz, and good fun to battle it out with some of the other brains on Bath Road.
The Old Restoration, High Street
The Old Restoration’s pub quiz takes place each Sunday at 8pm with a cash prize. They often have a number of offers on food including sharers, so it’s a good idea to arrive early if you fancy some pub grub before getting your thinking cap on.
The Royal, Horsefair Street
One of Charlton Kings’ favourite pubs, The Royal, hosts its pub quiz every Sunday. A little tongue in cheek, it kicks off at 8pm, and you can conveniently book your quiz table via their online booking system. Costing £1 per person to enter, all winning proceeds going to the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, making their pub quiz a great cause too.
Sandford Park Alehouse, High Street
Kicking off at 7.30pm every Sunday, Sandford Park Alehouse hosts a weekly pub quiz. As well as an evening of trivia, they also have a game of Play Your Cards Right after the quiz. You can simply buy a raffle ticket for £1 and if it’s drawn, you can win the cash pot – it rolls over each week. The pub quiz itself costs £1 per person to enter. What’s even better is that you have a wide range of tasty beers to enjoy while you quiz!
The Tivoli, Andover Road
Every Sunday from 7.30pm, The Tivoli hosts a pub quiz. The best thing is it’s free – a smartphone quiz that allows you to compete for cash with teams across the UK. All you need to do is download the app, and it’s fastest finger first. As well as a £20 bar tab, you could win the national cash prize of up to £1,500.
Cheltenham pub quiz on Monday
The Swan, High Street
Head down to The Swan at 7.30pm each Monday for their quiz. It’s just £1 per person to enter.
Cheltenham pub quiz on Tuesday
The Feathered Fish, Winchcombe Street
The Feathered Fish’s Cheltenham pub quiz takes place every Tuesday at 8.15pm. I recommend booking your table in advance as they are limited and do run out quickly!
The Jolly Brewmaster, Painswick Road
Taking place every other Tuesday, The Jolly Brewmaster’s Cheltenham pub quiz kicks off at 7.45pm. It’s £2 entry per person, and there are 1st, 2nd, and bonus prizes to be won. Given the small size of the pub, I recommend booking your table in advance.
The King’s Head, Cheltenham Road
Taking place on the first and third Tuesday of the month, The King’s Head pub quiz starts at 7pm in the main bar. It’s £1 entry per person, and you play for the chance of winning a £25 bar tab.
Cheltenham pub quiz on Wednesday
The Greatfield, Caernarvon Road
I may be biased as it’s my local Cheltenham pub quiz, but The Greatfield really does do a great pub quiz. Taking place each and every Wednesday, it’s £2 per person to enter. Offering a ‘Family Fortunes’ style quiz, it’s good fun and there’s the chance to win various different cash prizes.
The Wheatsheaf, Old Bath Road
The Wheatsheaf hosts a pub quiz every Wednesday, starting at 8.30pm. You can enjoy food from 6pm, so I recommend heading down early so you can eat before you quiz.
Cheltenham pub quiz on Thursday
The Hatherley, Hatherley Road
The Hatherley’s Cheltenham pub quiz takes place every Thursday night from 8pm. Costing £2 per person to enter, you stand the chance of winning cash prizes. It certainly offers you a challenge. Head down early to enjoy food and drink while you’re there.
The Brown Jug, Bath Road
The Brown Jug’s quiz night takes place every Thursday for £2 entry per person. There are a number of cash prizes to be won. There is an option to pay £10 for some food, a drink, and entry to the pub quiz too. I recommend booking in your table in advance as this is a popular quiz.
The Cotswold, Portland Street
The Cotswold’s Cheltenham pub quiz takes place every Thursday from 8.30pm. Impressively, quiz master Paul Wheeldon has been hosting the pub quiz for over 18 years! The kitchen is open from 7.30pm to 10pm, so you can grab some tasty homemade food while you quiz. Prizes on offer include a £40 bar tab.
The Norwood, Leckhampton Road
If you think you’ve got what it takes to win a Cheltenham pub quiz, head down to The Norwood on Thursdays at 8pm. For £2 entry, you can win a cash prize. Maximum team sizes are up to 8 people.
