With a new fast food outlet opening pretty frequently these days in Cheltenham, it can be difficult knowing where to choose for a takeaway. As well as some fresh new additions to the town, there are plenty of old favourites too. Whether you prefer Indian, Chinese, Thai, pizza, or spicy chicken, there are so many options for you to choose from. Without further ado, here’s my guide to the best takeaways in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
B-Ten Indian, Suffolk Road
Located near Cheltenham’s desirable Bath Road in the Suffolks, B-Ten has been a popular go-to Indian takeaway for the people of Cheltenham for years. Boasting a generous menu of tasty Indian dishes, B-Ten also offers a third off takeaways, or 10% delivery orders between Sunday – Thursday. Reasonably priced, B-Ten’s baltis are a speciality, all cooked Punjabi style with fresh green dhanya and methi for an exotic flavour. My personal favourites include the chicken naga with Bangladeshi hot chili pickle, onions and peppers for a real spicy kick, or the murghi shashkick with barbecued chicken, roast peppers, onions, and tomatoes. I’ve never had a bad dish here and the variety of dishes makes it one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham.

Kibou, Regent Street
Having been serving up the best Japanese food in Cheltenham for over seven years, Kibou’s recent shift to a larger venue in the heart of Regent Street has only strengthened their offering. Undoubtedly one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham, Kibou serves up a plethora of delicious ramen, sushi, and Japanese curry dishes. Kick things off with some tasty bao buns or tempura before moving on to the real deal. Don’t miss the chicken nanban ramen, packed with lightly battered chicken thigh, noodles, egg, and vegetables. For sushi lovers, the lantern roll is a must – eight pieces of salmon or tuna topped with soft shell crab tempura, mango, avocado, tempura flakes, and tobiko. You can order takeaway via their click and collect, and bag a 10% discount if you take away between Sunday to Thursday. Enjoy!
Simpsons Fish and Chips, Priors Road
Widely professed as serving up the best fish and chips in Cheltenham, Simpsons Fish and Chips has been a local favourite for years. In fact, Simpsons was named the UK’s number 1 fish and chip takeaway back in 2016, proving their tasty boxes are nothing to be sniffed at! Priding themselves on being a sustainable takeaway, Simpsons also does a gluten free day on the last Monday of each month, and there are also some vegetarian and vegan options. On the takeaway menu you’ll find all your chippie favourites, as well as some additions like halloumi, tofish, and rotisserie chicken. For me, it’s cod, chips, and Simpsons jalapeno tartare sauce every time. Without a doubt, this is one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham.
The Coconut Tree, St Paul’s Road
You’ll often hear people raving about The Coconut Tree, and for good reason too. Packing a real punch, The Coconut Tree has excelled in bringing Sri Lankan street food to Cheltenham with an explosion of flavours. Choose your favourite dishes from the menu, and Uber Eats will delivery directly to your door for one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham. It’s also possible to collect your takeaway yourself. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu at The Coconut Tree, and the cheesy colombo is a popular choice – fried cheese cubes in a lightly spiced sticky sauce. Other excellent plates include cashew nuts and green peas cooked in coconut cream, chicken curry on the bone, black pork belly, and hot battered spicy cuttlefish.
Holee Cow, Winchcombe Street
Where better for a burger in Cheltenham than Holee Cow? Expect fully stacked, kick-ass, sloppy burgers from this delicious burger joint. As well as your classics including bacon and cheese, there are a number of novelty burgers on the menu too. Why not give the Escobar a try? It’s a brioche bun packed with beef patty, smoked applewood cheese, blackened cajun onions, chorizo, lettuce, gherkins, chipotle mayo, and guacamole. The new Santo Maradona is equally tasty too – american cheese, barbecue brisket, chimichuri, lettuce, gherkins, picked red onions, and chipotle mayo. Don’t forget to order the bacon cheese fries with your burger, and a side of buffalo wings. Arrive with an appetite and leave with a food bay at one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham. You can order online or have your Holee Cow order delivered direct to your door.
Paparritos, High Street
Cheltenham’s one and only Mexican food takeaway, it’s very convenient that Paparrito’s is also absolutely delicious. Having served up the town’s best burritos for years, it also makes for an excellent takeaway at home. Serving natural Mexican food free from preservatives, you can choose from tacos, nachos, and a choice of burritos. Pick from a main filling of grilled chicken, braised beef, braised pork, braised lamb, chargrilled beef steak, or marinated tofu or roasted sweet potato. You can then customise your order with a choice of rice, beans, salsas, and additions like sour cream, Monterey Jack cheese, shredded lettuce, and roasted peppers. It undoubtedly makes my list of the best takeaways in Cheltenham.
Siam Smile, Suffolk Road
Dating back to 1998, Siam Smile has been serving up some of Cheltenham’s best Thai and Malaysian cuisine for years. Using fine spices and fresh ingredients in each and every dish, Siam Smile is one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham. Choose from their delicious takeaway menu and be sure to sample a variety of tasty dishes. Favourites include pad thai, stir fried garlic and black pepper paste, and rendang curry with Malaysian chicken or beef. Incredible side dishes include Malaysian curry puffs, chopped prawns wrapped in pastry, and Thai spicy fish cakes. There are a number of set menus too, to make picking dishes a little easier for you. Whatever you choose for your takeaway, you won’t be disappointed.
Fat Toni’s, Regent Street
When you think of pizza in Cheltenham, you think Fat Toni’s. And it is 100% one of the best takeaways in Cheltenham. Serving up hand stretched sourdough pizzas with a range of delicious toppings, there’s something for everyone. Always opt for one of their impressive 20-inch pizzas, and enjoy you stack it with all the toppings – you can choose half and half, or even go three-ways or four-ways. A personal favourite is the Noah’s Arc – margherita pizza with pepperoni, chorizo, chicken, caramelised onions, prosciutto cotto ham, and Toni’s meatballs. In other words, a little bit of everything! Fat Toni’s caters its takeaways really well for vegans, vegetarians, and those looking for a gluten free pizza.

Offering a convenient takeaway service, all you need to do is pick the dishes you want to devour. Get things started with some appetisers – the prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce, duck spring rolls, and chicken satay skewers are all delicious.
