Moving Across The Pond

I’m doing something crazy.

Ok, not all crazy. Maybe just a bit. But it’s scaring me anyway.

I’m giving up a lot!

I’ve quit my job, I’m selling my car (my adorable Mini Cooper which I will miss so much!), and soon I will be saying goodbye to my much loved friends and family, my home, and everything I’ve pretty much known.

I’ll be buying a ticket. A ticket for a plane. A plane which will take me across the Atlantic. To Vancouver.

Why Vancouver, you ask?

Well, if you haven’t previously read, I’m half-Canadian. I have family over there. It’s an incredible city that is pretty damn stunning in whichever direction you look. Sea, mountains, beach, and skyscrapers. Besides, I’ve got to put this Canadian passport to good use, haven’t I!?

If you’ve ever visited, hopefully you’ll see why it’s been consistently voted in the top 10 cities to live. Just look here if you don’t believe me.

And here’s some photographic evidence for you from my last trip…

I don’t know how long it’ll be for… I’m seeing it as an adventure!

So, Vancouverites reading this, I’m appealing to you! Do you have any tips for me? Tips on finding accommodation, flatmates, friends, great restaurants, and very importantly… a job!?

Wish me luck!

I’m Laura, a roaming blonde who recently made the leap from my home in the Cotswolds, UK to be based across the pond in Vancouver, BC for a brand new job and plenty of adventures.
