Cocktails, Crab, and Cerveza

Another sunny day dawned on the aptly named Sunshine State. Time for a bit of exploring!
We headed over to Indian Rocks Beach on the way down the coast to St. Petersburg. Here it felt a lot more tropical. If you’ve ever been to the Florida Keys, you’ll know what I mean – think verandas, rocking chairs, and cigars.

It also happened to be one of the hottest days I have ever experienced!

Once we reached St. Petersburg, we were melting just walking around.
Unfortunately, the famous upside-down pyramid shaped pier was closed, but we took a stroll around the Yacht Club. Even that felt like we were sizzling under the sun’s burning rays, so we went for lunch before heading up to Orlando.

Having reached Clermont, where we were staying, around sunset, there was just one thing to do… crack out a hefty bottle of wine.

Before waking up and finally being able to enjoy the villa pool…

At least, it was in the morning until the heavens decided to open.

Seeking distraction from the turn in the weather, and with tummies rumbling, we set off in search of food. Introducing Joe’s Crab Shack.
You’re seated then brought your own (pretty fetching) bib, with its own title on. I was Princess Crab, of course…

Most of the menu consists of buckets of seafood – my absolute dream!

I picked a bucket with a whole lobster, crab legs, and corn on the cob.

It was de-lish and a pretty fun experience!

And I couldn’t agree more with their sign!

Once we’d finished, we headed back to the villa for sundowners whilst the sun set.

A great end to another great day in Florida!
