Waking up to another glorious day in Rome, we decided to spend the morning in a park. One of Rome’s most famous parks is located in Villa Borghese Gardens, featuring a number of attractions and museums.
If you wonder around the park, you’ll discover this little lake where you can hire rowing boats for half an hour. Taking our chances and hoping to cool off a little on the lake, we hopped into one. Oddly enough, it reminded me of something out of a Jane Austen novel, but sadly there was no Mr Darcy to be seen.
I let Jo do most of the driving…
When our half an hour had ended, we took a stroll around the park and unexpectedly came across the most beautiful view across Rome.
Such a lovely surprise!
We headed back down to the city to get a glimpse of the Pantheon in the day time, and to peek inside.
Before getting a good look round the Colosseum, and learning all about the history of this iconic building. I’ll leave the details for you to discover when you visit the city yourself!
Our final meal in Italy called for pizza, naturally. In fact, we were so sad not to have any more Italian food that we even ordered a side dish of carbonara – oops!
Rome, you’ve been a dream.
