Dinner at Aqua, Shard

This weekend, we had a very special celebration! It was my friend Anna’s 24th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than dinner up London’s esteemed Shard.

It all started with a roadtrip to Anna’s house near Reading.

With Pimms in the garden to make a very lovely (and unusually dry) summer’s day.

Before we all got too tipsy, we got glammed up and caught our train to London.

Gathering up a few more friends for drinks before heading to our table in the Shard.

How’s that for a landmark selfie!?

If you haven’t been to the Shard before, you need to go! It offers some crazy good views across the capital, including Tower Bridge and it has such a lovely atmosphere. There are a few restaurants, but Anna picked Aqua, a contemporary British restaurant and bar offering amazing views from the 31st floor.

We were very lucky with our table – the restaurant kindly gave us a private booth which you normally have to pay a lot of money for! So we had these amazing views from the comfort of our own room.

None of us could get over the amazing scenery, it was so perfect!

Even the view from the bathroom was pretty special…

We ordered our food and wine – I had braised beef and it was cooked to perfection, and so tasty.

A very special celebration that I’m sure none of us will forget. Happy birthday, Anna!
